About
I have six years’ experience across health tech, insurance and B2B SaaS. I was the sole in-house UX designer at a health technology company, worked on contract with an insurer’s design team, and have led discovery and design as a freelancer for businesses in education, media, construction and care.
How I work
- I investigate before I design. I follow a problem back through the product until I can show where it starts.
- I weigh the alternatives out loud, including the cheaper ones, and say what each costs.
- I work closely with product, engineering and the people who sign things off, such as clinical leads and compliance.
- I separate evidence from hope. I say what was shipped, what I observed and what is still a hypothesis.
Prototypes, design systems and AI
I build working prototypes in HTML, CSS and JavaScript with AI tools, and give each concept a small design system built from tokens. Kerbside has a phone prototype you can play, and On Behalf turns its research into a kit other apps could use. I also tested whether AI personas can stand in for real users.
How this site was built, with AI assistance, is in a short note.
What I’m looking for
I’m primarily interested in product design and UX roles, ideally in a team with other designers. I’m also open to solutions and pre-sales roles where discovery and product knowledge matter.
